This website's sole purpose is to serve as a collection of all the things I have programmed.
Whether the functions are useful or not is completely irrelevant. The main thing is that I had fun programming and can look at my results at any time and, if necessary, even help others achieve their goals more easily.
Ultimately, this website serves as the “parent project” for all the projects I have ever done. These include, for example, my survey tool, my quiz app, my QR code generator, and much more.
Have fun exploring!
I'm Elmar and I like programming in my spare time. My first contact with programming was at school, when we were asked to programme a website in computer science lessons. I realised that I enjoyed programming and started programming a family website. This website still exists and is now a "daughter project" of Per la Vita. In addition to the family aspect, I have bundled all the projects that I have programmed on the family website. That made for quite a mess. That was also one of the reasons why I wanted to have another website. I wanted to take some of the pressure off the family website and the provider of the family website didn't allow me to make certain settings. I can adjust these with this project. This allows me to better customise my projects to my own ideas.
It took me a long time to decide on the name »Per la Vita«. When I had the idea for the website, I quickly started thinking about a name, but it wasn't that easy. Either there was no connection to me, it sounded strange (abbreviations), the abbreviation already stood for some federal office or the domain was already taken.
In the end, it ended up being Per la Vita because I also learn Italian in my spare time, so I have a connection to Italian, it sounds nice, the meaning »For life« somehow fits and the domain was free. The name also has another inspiration. In year 9, we had a project in which we were supposed to "found" a company. We "founded" one that sold potato chips and donated the profits to homeless people who were also allowed to work there. We called this company Per la Vita because it helps the homeless to lead a life. I really liked the name back then and it stuck in my mind, so the final decision was made in favour of the name.
Unfortunately, I am unable to provide all functions in English. Therefore, the website is only available in German, and all information for English speakers can be found on this page. If you have any questions, please send an email to english@per-la-vita.de. Thank you for your understanding!
